On a damp Sunday morning at "the croft" we played local neighbours Wanstead in an exciting game. Both sides played well and there was some great teamwork on show.
Wanstead began the match well and scored 2 tries in the first few minutes. Despite making some decent tackles Bancroft lacked intensity in the first half. The home side were also dealt a cruel blow when they lost Olly Hughes early on following a clash of heads with an opposition player.
By now the visitors were playing an expansive game and scoring some impressive tries. Wanstead went into half time with a 4 try lead.
Bancroft started the second half much better and passed the ball around well, which almost resulted in an early second half try. Using their wingers to great effect Wanstead scored a few more fast-paced tries with runs down the outside.
The match ended 0-7 to Wanstead.
