A lengthy trip down the A470 for Bangor City brought them to the home of Gavin Chesterfield’s Barry Town United to contest the reverse of The Dragons’ 1-0 win over The Citizens up in Gwynedd at the end of September and, possibly with that in mind, Kevin Nicholson’s side got off to a storming start.
George Harry and Gary Taylor-Fletcher both created early chances for the visitors, as did Anthony Miley who thundered a strike wide of the mark, but it fell to JDWPL Player of the month for November Dean Rittenberg to score the opening goal after 27 minutes to make it 1-0 to the visitors after the number 10 tucked home a great ball by Taylor-Fletcher.
The home side came back out for the second half with a real sense of urgency, and Matt Hall had to be alert to make a great save within ten minutes of the restart to deny Barry Town United an equaliser, but he could do nothing to stop Kayne McLaggon scoring from the spot after an hour to even the scores.
McLaggon then glanced a header over some five minutes later to let Bangor off the hook, before substitute Brayden Shaw shot inches wide from range just a few moments after coming onto the pitch, but neither side could do anything to add to the score and it finished 1-1 to see both sides share the spoils.
