Quay Represented On Tour To Canada

Congratulation to Kiel Hillman and Ryan Brown on their selection to tour Canada with the NWML Rep team. In addition the team will be coached by former head coach and player John Braddish.

The North West Men’s League is delighted to announce the 22-man train on squad for the Canada Tour in June 2014.

The squad – whom have been notified by a delighted coaching partnership of John Braddish (Bank Quay Bulls) and Chris Smith (Haydock) – will be called into their first training session on Wednesday February 26 to be put through their paces as the coaching duo look to fine tune the team and prepare them for the test ahead.

“It was a very tough job to get the 56 attendees of the trial day down to a 22 man train on squad,” said Braddish.

“The group that is made up of players from no fewer than 16 different teams over three separate divisions which really highlights the quality of player that is plying their trade in the North West Men’s League.

Chris Smith added, “The standard of play on show at the selection day made our task extremely hard. John and I are happy with our selections and are looking forward to preparing the lads to tour.”

The squad will get together on Wednesday February 26 and train together for the first time. Following on from this sessions will be held on the last Wednesday of every month to fine tune the preparation and ensure the squad are as best prepared for the tour ahead.

“This is a first for the North West Men’s League, but not the last,” said league Chairman Stuart Prior.

“John and Chris have done a great job to get the squad to where it is now but this is when the hard work starts in earnest for the players.

“I am privileged to be taking good people on tour – namely John and Chris – who have looked after the best interest of the game, its development and it success as is shown in the selection of the squad which has a massive spread across the NWML spectrum.”
