The Bulls Travel To Bold In The Semi Final

The draw has been made for the semi final of the NWML Cup, We travel to St Helens division 1 side Bold Miners on June 7th 2:30 kick off.

We will not be expecting an easy tie as Bold are currently only beaten once in their last 10 games and have already defeated premier division opposition on two occasion getting to this stage of the competition, Halton Farnworth 24-20 in the prelim and Haydock 28-20 in the quarter final.

The other semi final will see last season winners Halton Simms Cross face the winners of Ashton Bears v Widnes West Bank, this tie will be played on 16th May.

"The draw for the semi-finals of the North West Men’s League Cup, Trophy and Shield has been completed.

Eleven teams are now just eighty minutes from booking their place at the NWML Open Cup Finals day which will be held on Saturday June 21st.

Ashton Bears and Widnes West Bank are yet to play their Cup Quarter-Final fixture but will do so on May 16 when they will battle it out to face Halton Simms Cross.

The draw was overseen by Sean Mellor from the RFL with Bradley Kelk drawing the home teams and Anthony Atherton drawing the away teams.

North West Men’s League Chairman, Stuart Prior said: “Once again there are some fantastic cup matches to look forward to as we get ever closer to Finals Day.

“Each of the teams are now only 80 minutes away from what will be a truly exciting event and so we should expect to see some more great rugby in the semi-finals.

“On behalf of the league I’d like to wish each team the best of luck in preparing for what will be four thrilling matches.”

Division One side Bold Miners will play host to Bank Quay Bulls after eliminating Premier Division opposition Haydock in the last eight.

In the NWML Trophy Rochdale Mayfield A travel to Burtonwood Bridge whilst Leigh Miners A will host local rivals Wigan St Patricks A.

Finally in the NWML Shield Rochdale Cobras will welcome Blackpool Scorpions and Leyland Warriors will visit Widnes St Maries.

Ties to be played Saturday June 7.
