Side Comfortably Beat APSA

After Monday night's 5-0 thrashing at home to Great Wakering, 'Side regrouped in style by comfortably beating London APSA 4-0.

The players were fortunate to come up against a London Apsa team who did not like the freezing cold weather on the night and never really competed against Barkingside on the night.

Mark Steadman played well on the night and done everything well except his scoring attempts which were not the best.

The 1st goal came on 30 minutes from a Paul Kavanaugh corner and Dave Cooper rose up above everyone else and headed towards goal and Jake Matthews just helped it on his way to score his 1st goal for Barkingside.

On 44 minutes Richard Oxby scored a brilliant goal with his back towards goal a overhead kick beat Apsa's keeper to make it 2-0.

On 45 minutes Jake Matthews scored his 2nd goal on the night and Barkingside's 3rd when Mark Steadman made a perfect cross for Jake to score with a low shot.

In the 2nd half Barkingside continued to impress and another Mark Steadman assist allowed Dan Mackin to score the 4th goal and his 1st goal for Barkingside.

On a really freezing night Barkingside continued to play with confidence but at last London Apsa woke up and gave them a game in the last 30 minutes but had no chance again Barkingside's solid defence.

Jake Matthews was in my opinion Man of the Match for his 2 goals and outstanding performance
