Barkingside's first match since February 12th saw them come up against League Leaders Enfield 1893 and were unfortunate to come away defeated and at least deserved a draw.

Once again Barkingside found themselves playing 12 men and grew frustrated with some against them.poor decisions. From the start they matched Enfield and played some good football and dominated some of the play.

On 33 minutes Enfield got past Barkingside's defence and as the striker came up against Tom Genville side's keeper he kicked the ball too far in front of him and Glenville dived but the ball bobbled up on the pitch over his hands and was going out of play when the striker made the most of his chance and fell over Glaeville's outstretched hands and the referee awarded a penalty. Neil Hughes scored with his spot kick to give Enfield a 1-0 lead which remained the score at half time.

In the second half Barkingside tried to get back in the game and dominated the play for long periods. Barkingside produced some excellent crosses from wide men Dean Nyman and Substitute Stuart Drew and Ryan Imbert should have scored twice with headed goals but his first match since November saw him lacking match fitness.

In the last 15 minutes of the game Barkingside players started to look tired and Enfield started to get some more of the play and Tom Glenville produced a couple of good saves to deny Enfield from scoring and the game ended 1-0
.
A club spokeperson said after the game: "We were a bit disappointed to get defeated today especially with a soft penalty given. The lads played well at times but with the suspensions we have at the moment and this the first game we have played for 3 weeks it showed at times."

"We have 3 home games to play in the next 6 days so hopefully we can pick up some points and climb up the table."
