Dulwich who sat in 7th place in the Ryman Premier League going into the game, proved too much for ‘Side to handle, as they ran away from Gus Gulfer’s side after the break, scoring six times.
To ‘Side’s credit they proved a hard nut for the hosts to crack in the first-half. With Tyler McCarthy in goal and his defence working hard, Dulwich were only 1-0 up at the break, thanks to Matt Drage’s header from a corner.
Shortly after having a goal ruled out for offside Ibra Sekajja made it 2-0 on 59 minutes. The forward doing well to beat McCarthy with a low drive.
Then the match turned into the Dipo Akinyemi show, as the forward scored a sensational four times in a spell of 13 minutes.
His first strike was a powerful shot that came after a fine run on 63 minutes. His second came three minutes later after he was sent clean through on goal.
Akinyemi’s hat-trick came on 72 minutes when he swept home a cross from Jamie Mascoll. Goal number four came just four minutes later when he clipped the ball past McCarthy after getting the better of his marker.
‘Side despite this onslaught kept going and grabbed a consolation with a fantastic header from Luke With on 86 minutes. It was the tall forward’s 16th goal of the season, putting him one ahead of fellow strike partner David Laird in the club’s scoring charts.
Jacob Erskine, who started his career with Dagenham & Redbridge, rounded out the scoring for the hosts with two minutes remaining.
'Side are next in action at home to Clapton at Cricklefields on Friday night. Kick-off for this match is at 7:45pm. Admission to the match is £5 with Kids getting in for free.
