Takeley could have taken the lead just after the quarter-hour mark when they were awarded a penalty, however Mitchell Das fried the penalty over the bar.
The hosts who have made Station Road a fortress this season did take the lead on 26 minutes through Matt Gill. Das then made up for missing his penalty by making it 2-0 on 38 minutes. The match was then wrapped up well and truly before half-time as two goals from Carl Mullings, making his debut for the hosts, on 37 and 42 minutes made it 4-0, making it a miserable half for the Sky Blues.
Mullings didn’t have to wait long to complete his hat-trick, scoring on 53 minutes before adding his fourth of the match on 67 minutes. Reece Barrett completed the scoring for the hosts on 86 minutes to consign ‘Side to one of their heaviest defeats in recent years.
The result see's Michael Walther's men fall to 12th in the table, on goal difference behind Stansted in 11th.
