Despite 'Side conceding a late equaliser, which denied them a first league win this season, it was a great result for Michael Walther's men away to a strong Saffron side that will challenge for promotion.
The Bloods started the game well at Catons Lane, taking the lead on four minutes through former 'Side forward Lewis Francis. It was a bad start to the game for a new-look 'Side featuring five debutants, but to their credit they bounced back and showed character afterwards.
Michael Clarke recently signed from Romford equalised for 'Side after 34 minutes, as the teams went in to half-time level, which was the very least the Sky Blues deserved.
There was more joy for Clarke in the second-half, when he bagged a second goal on 58 minutes to put 'Side 2-1 up. Walther's men were playing and were putting Jason Maher's side firmly on the back-foot.
Unfortunately 'Side couldn't hold on for the three points as Ashley Skeggs scored for Bloods on 82 minutes. Neither team could score a winner as the points were shared.
This is now a great result for 'Side - who remain five points off 19th placed Leyton - to build on. They are next in action at home on Saturday to Hullbridge Sports Reserves in the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy. That match kicks-off at 3pm.
