Late Win Over Hackney
Barkingside kept up their perfect start to the season, beating Hackney Wick 1-0 on Friday night, thanks to a late penalty scored by Dan Jones.
In a hard-fought encounter on Friday night, 'Side made it two wins from two in the Eastern Senior League after beating a good Hackney Wick side at Cricklefields.
The winning goal came on 83 minutes, when Hackney were down to ten men because of a sin-binning. Substitute Jacob Dingli was brought down in the box, with the experienced Dan Jones coolly stroking home the spot-kick.
It was the midfielder's second goal of the season, and one which would earn a vital three points. 'Side are back in action on Saturday when they meet Isthmian Premier outfit Bowers & Pistea away in the Preliminary Round on Saturday 24th August. Kick-off at the Len Salmon Stadium will be at 3pm.
