For the second home game in a week, Barmouth netted three times to come away with 3 points.

Barmouth eased to victory and picked up three important points in their quest to maintain fourth spot in the league against a weakened Bodedern side in fixture catch-up mode having played 4 games in the last 8 days. After a heavy defeat midweek at Caernarfon Town, Barmouth started the game in confident mood and continued to play a fluent passing game throughout.
In a slow paced first 20 minutes the game was brought to life when Bobby Griffith opened the scoring with a powerful rising drive after being delightfully put through from a Pete Griffith back heel, the home side controlled the game and it came as no surprise when Barmouth doubled their advantage in the 31st minute after Dave Linstead started and finished a flowing left wing move involving Bobby Griffith and Shane Jones.
Barmouth continued to create chances, Shane Jones, Pete Griffith and Ieuan Brooks all seeing their shots saved by the busy Bodedern keeper Gareth Roberts. Little was seen of the Bodedern attack as they were kept under wraps by Jon Harrison and Steve Bratt and leaving Darren Andrews in the Barmouth goal a virtual spectator.
Bodedern started the second half in a more determined mood and applied early pressure on the Barmouth rearguard and rewarded with a harshly given penalty when Iwan Jones stumbled into the penalty area, Iwan Jones took the spot kick himself and Darren Andrews saved splendidly low down to his right to deny Bodedern a way back in.
Barmouth weathered the pressure and went further in front when another penalty was given in the 61st minute after Darren Hughes fouled Shane Jones, up stepped the Welsh Alliance League’s top scorer to drill his spot kick wide of the desperate dive of Gareth Roberts right hand.
The third goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of a tired looking Bodedern side playing their fourth match in a week and we all waited for further goals, but for the third match in a row the Barmouth forwards were again guilty of missing very good chances, combined with good saves from the keeper and poor finishing.
The crowd drifted home early to see if their investments at Aintree had paid off and so it was a little disappointing that much of the crowd wasn’t around at the end of the game to applaud Barmouth’s much deserved second win in three outings.
