Find out more about our recent junior games - hear directly from our coaches

Read below our coaches reports on some of our junior games. Its great to hear about the wins but more importantly the games being played in great spirit and the contribution of all players.

Great win for the under 11's in the County Prem Vs Himley this morning. Great contributions from all but most importantly game played in the right spirit and players/parents an absolute joy. The futures bright. The futures green.

Another excellent game for the Under 11 team in the County Prem. Narrowly lost out in the final over to Halesowen but several new players involved and everyone contributing as the squad is always rotated . Well done to players and families alike.

An excellent start to the u15s season with an 8 wicket win over Malvern in the first round of the county cup. Our Super 9 (+1 sub fielder) all bowled and fielded exceptionally well to restrict the visitors on a glorious evening at NEL. Fantastic spirit and support in the team which comprised boys from U11 upwards. My personal highlight was debutant U11 Henry Hawes’ readiness to take the new ball, bowling his full quota of overs economically and taking a well deserved wicket. Well done to everyone.

Great win for the Under 11's tonight Vs Pershore. Most important thing wasn't the size of the victory it was the conduct of the players. So so proud of how the boys carried themselves. Always nice when the opposition coach says that the team played well but were very sporting and respectful.Rotating every game to give lots of people a chance and every player has been a credit to their parents and to our club.

Fantastic start in the premier Division for the U13s.
An amazing win last Sunday against the reigning champs Droitwich with 7 wickets to spare
2 wickets a piece for Ben Clarke, Freddie Ammonds and Sam Laidler and the highlight being 5 catches by Amaan Edaveleth. 2 out of 2 wins takes us top of the league...

Our Super 7s (yes, we could only muster 7 tonight) U15 team beat Nomads earlier in a topsy turvey encounter at Newland. Chasing 118 to win, a steady start set the right platform for the middle order to pick up the pace, leaving our last 2 batsmen needing 13 to win off 2 overs. The 19th over produced nearly all of the required runs in wides from a previously economical bowler to end the game with an over to spare. Great team ethos again.

What a privilege it is to run the U11 team. Another convincing win tonight against Rushwick but far more important are the smiles on the players faces, the respect for the opposition and their willingness to always help without being asked. I always rotate the team so loads get the honour of representing our club, but no matter who plays they always make me so proud.

Fantastic sunset at Newland last night U13s best Malvern CC by 40 runs to go and face Ombersley in the semi final of the cup in a couple of weeks. Great team effort, fantastic consistent bowling, retirements for Ben Clarke, Sam Laidler and Lois Burgess . Champagne moment must be Lois Burgess one handed over the head catch! Well done all !!

Great result and a very convincing win for the Under 10’s this afternoon against Malvern CC.Brilliant contributions from every player and a very strong team performance. The future is bright

The U14s got off to winning start against Pershore.
Pershore were restricted to 110 with Barnaby Tripp and Lois Burgess impressing with the ball. The Green made light work of the total with Ben Clarke hitting a swift 40 no.

Bursting with pride at the utterly incredible Under 11 team who beat Worcester, one of the strongest sides in Worcestershire. Every player was utterly outstanding and played their part in the victory. Felt like I had 8 additional sons tonight who I couldn't be prouder of!

The u14s had a tense win in their 1st pairs game of the season.
Martley batted first and got off to a flyer, but some tight bowling by the younger players stemmed the runs. Jade Hume being the pick of the bowlers with 3-8. In reply Tom Morris-Jones got the green off to a good start and some steady batting meant we were leading with one over left. However 2 wickets meant that we needed 2 runs off the last ball - Luke Haffield held his nerve and duly obliged with a big 6 over the Newland Hedge! Credit to all the younger players including 2 U11s who did superbly and the opposition for a game played in great spirit.

U15 v Rushwick, cup quarter final.
It was the turn of our Super Tens (our best turnout so far!) to pull out a victory. Bowling first, some excellent bowling was followed by indifferent fielding, leaking 40 runs in the last 4 overs to set us 92 to win. Our excitable fielding continued with the top order batters flashing hard to get us off to a fast start but wickets falling. Some calm was eventually restored and our 5th wicket pair got us over the line with 5 overs to spare. Another stunning night to play cricket at Newland - credit to all involved for making this ground such a gem to play at.
