On Saturday 18th September BGCC members of all ages completed their "Hundread" challenge.

Named after the new cricket competition but highlighting the difficulty the "Hundread" challenge involved walking 100 laps of the pitch totaling in excess of 15 miles and it took most walkers over 4 hours to complete.

This sponsored walk was to raise money for St Richard's Hospice to support them to care for adults with a serious progressive illness and the club itself so it can continue to provide facilities and services for its cricket and social members.

Organiser Chris Smedley, of main sponsor Malvern Engineering, said "The walk was a lot harder than I thought but it was worth the effort and pain knowing we can support both organisations to carry on their good work in the community. It really was a team effort to get it organised in just over 2 weeks. Thanks to the wakers and the volunteers and staff who ran the BBQ and raffle and provided us with refreshments during the day".

One member, Kath Wood, also walked around Malvern Rugby Club and Malvern Town FC as part of her 15 miles she said "I am so grateful to supporters of both clubs and their opposition on the day for their generous donations. We have raised over £3500 but we would really like to reach £4000 or more. It's not too late to donate - please visit https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/bgcchundread or drop a cash donation in the clubhouse."
