Barnards Green Cricket Club is delighted to announce the arrival of Jerome Taylor. The former West Indies international and IPL player will take the role of player-coach for the rest of the season.

As well as looking to make a significant contribution as a player, Taylor will also spend time coaching in the club’s junior set-up and successful academy programme, where young players can get extra quality coaching in small groups on a weekly basis.

Fast bowler Taylor, who is 37 and hails from Jamaica, played 46 Test Matches for the West Indies between 2003 and 2016, taking 130 wickets including best figures of 6 for 47 against Australia in 2015. He is also the proud owner of a Test Match century, making 106 against New Zealand in 2008. In ODIs, Taylor took 130 wickets in 90 matches, while he also took 33 wickets in 30 T20 Internationals.

We are looking forward to seeing him take the field at North End Lane this weekend as we host Wolverhampton CC (12 noon start), and to mark the occasion we are having Caribbean food from 4pm
