Barnoldswick Town have signed Burnley striker Tommy Wood on a work experience loan deal.

The 19 year striker who is a member of Michael Duff's U23s squad comes in to bolster the Town attack ahead of this weekends trip to Albion Sports in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Tommy joined the Clarets on a two-year scholarship after leaving Reading in the summer of 2015.

The forward had an impressive debut season at Turf Moor, being named the Clarets' Youth Team Player of the Year in May, 2016.
He enjoyed another productive season in front of goal in 2016/17 as the Clarets finished second in the North-West Youth Alliance, earning himself a third-year scholarship deal as a member of the Development Squad.

"Another player in from a premier league club. I had a good chat with Michael Duff about him this week and I am excited to have Tommy and again humbled by Burnley's trust in us to assist in the development of their young players. I'm looking forward to working with him and watching him in a Barnoldswick shirt"
