Welcome to the 2019-20 FAWNL Division 1 Campaign. The squad are ready are you?

The Mascots for this game were from Ardsley Athletico Junior Football Club.
The Reds are on the front foot straight away.
I0' Lissa Woodhouse sponsored by Gauntlet, goes through on goal but can't beat the Newcastle Keeper.
17' Drew Greene sponsored by iVision, is played in by a lovely through ball and lobs the goal keeper to open this seasons scoring. 1-0 Barnsley
21' Sophie Bell picks up the ball on the edge of the box and drives through the defense to get her shot away. She is denied by the goal keeper.
23' Lindsey Tugby flicks the freekick past the keeper, 2-0 Reds.
26 Amy Woodruff sponsored by Yorkshire Rose, hits a peach of a volley from the edge of the box which draws a fantastic save from the Newcastle keeper
31' The crowd thought that was in as Lissa Woodhouse goes close from long range with a great volley
34' After giving the ball away from a goal kick, Bethan Davies sponsored by Foot-Tech Academy, makes a confident save to deny the Newcastle forward
40' Annie Ward gets her head on an incoming free kick forcing a good save from the Newcastle keeper
43' Penalty to Barnsley but the Newcastle keeper pulls off a brilliant save to keep it at just 2-0.
Half-time and a penalty shoot out for our mascots today from Ardsley Athletico was won by Harley Speight.
Great to see the Ardsley girls enjoying an afternoon watching Barnsley Women's FC.
45' Lissa Woodhouse hits a screamer which is touched onto the bar by the Newcastle keeper
50' Amy Woodruff is clean through only to see her shot saved brilliantly by the outstanding Newcastle keeper who is certainly keeping the score down today

65' Substitution as Kathryn Smith comes on to replace Amy Woodruff
70' Substitution as Danielle Whitham replaces Lindsey Tugby as the Reds look to see out the game
75' the game has gone a little quiet but Barnsley still the more dominant side but not many chances coming.
77' Barnsley free-kick sees Danielle Whitham go close
83' Substitution as Rebecca Hornsey leaves the field to be replaced by Sophie Crosby.
85' Drew Greene receives the throw in ball back from Sophie Crosby and then drives into the area before shooting, Keeper gathers.
86' Danielle Whitham hits a powerful strike and is denied by the post. The Reds are trying hard to find the 3rd goal.
93' Full Time at Oakwell. Two first half goals were enough to get this seasons campaign underway with a 2-0 win.
