Following a really difficult year for Baros – both on and off the field – we have seen a number of changes at the club over the summer, including the recent resignation of Leigh Soule as the 2nd team manager.
Solo is a personal friend of mine and has worked tirelessly for the Baros over the last few years as a successful player / juniors manager and senior manager – I am not sure how he’s been able to do this with such a busy personal/business life but want to thank him on behalf of the club and wish him all the very best for the future.
I would also like to thank Steve Marshall, who has stepped down as Solo’s assistant, for his efforts in a number of different roles for the club and hope to see them both at the club for a beer during the season.
This news provides an opportunity for another highly respected person and after the great work he’s done with the 3rd team, I am very pleased to confirm that John Hext has agreed to step up and run the 2nd team this season along with Matt Hencher as his assistant. In a short space of time, Jonny has shown us that he can build a strong squad and create a great atmosphere within his team. I’m confident he’ll push on and continue this as the 2nd Team Manager, who I believe will work well with Joe Tustain and Dougie Waller as they look to re-build the 1st team.
We now have a vacancy for a 3rd team manager and we’ll look to make a decision on this as soon as possible, ensuring we choose the right candidate to take on this role – they have moved up into Div 3 this season and have the Baros U16 squad knocking on the door ready for next season, so it really is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for the right person.
Up the Baros.
