This is an update on how the club is planning to resume training

As a result of the Covid 19 pandemic all football activities ceased in March when the lockdown arrangements were implemented in the UK. The lockdown requirements have affected most aspects of normal daily life and seem likely to be with us in one form or another for some time yet.

We are sure all our players and parents want to get back to playing football as soon as possible – we know we do! We have spoken to other local clubs, Lincolnshire FA and others within the football world throughout the UK to find out what they have done to get prepared to resume training and we are now getting ready to produce & implement plans to resume training at Barrowby.

The FA have now issued guidance on the actions every Club, Manager, Parents and Players need to implement and adhere to control the risks associated with Covid 19 and keep everyone as safe as possible. We ask that you read and familiarise yourself with this guidance. The documents are posted in the links section under the Information tab on the club website.

It is important that everyone plays their part when we do eventually resume training. We ask that you know what is required of you and that you comply fully in all respects please. Please be aware that if any child or adult is unwell before any training session they must not attend. If anyone becomes unwell during the training session the session will end. Any breaches of the conditions that we will need to impose and everyone must comply with at all times will result in the training session ending and may result in cessation of all training for all teams. By complying with the requirements of the guidance will ensure that our insurances remain valid to cover all eventualities and everyone will remain safe.

The club is producing an action plan and will be working with the Parish Council and other users of the Pavilion and Low Field to resume training; however, we envisage training will not start again until August at the earliest although this may change depending on the instructions and guidance issued by the UK Government and FA.

It is worth noting that all the FA & Leagues in which we play have not indicated when ‘normal’ football will start again so at this stage it will only be training. The training we are allowed to do is somewhat restricted to ensure social distancing so will look and feel different to what we normally do. We will be in touch to update you when we are ready to resume training. We will also inform you what you need to do before attending and during every training session.

We fully understand that whether to resume training is a personal choice with many factors to consider in these difficult times. Everyone’s circumstances are different and if you don’t feel your child(ren) are ready to return to football there is no pressure to do so. Everyone’s health, well-being and safety are everyone’s priorities.

We look forward to seeing you soon. If you have any queries just contact any of the committee or speak to your Team Manager.
