Back to Back wins for Barrow Town

Barrow town went into this match on the back of the first league win of the season last time out.
barrow and Gedling both start the match a bit scrappy we the fist 15 mins not providing to much football. but a decisive moment came around the 17th minute when a great long from the back caught out the Gedling defence with Jordan Holmes running in behind and being brought down my the last man on the edge of the box resulting in a red card for the hosts.
Once the barrow team had a man advantage barrow started to control the game a bit more but were always on the watch out for the very lively striker for the hosts. then put of nowhere dean hope snatched the ball just inside the opposition half and went by one man before letting lose a rocket from 30 yards which flew straight into the top corner. 1-0 to barrow.

barrow had a few more chances with Andrei cause problems down the left and it should have been 2 when the ball got crossed into the box and nick reeves jumped up with the goalkeeper and the goalkeeper fumbled and dropped the ball to Andrei who's first touch took him past the goalkeeper and with just one man on the line and the goal gaping a thunderbolt effort got headed of the line over the bar. barrow went into half time 1-0 up for the 3rd game this season.

Second half saw the 10 man of Gedling come out on the front foot and with a set piece managed to level the scores after good movement from the Gedling skipper gave him a free header.

Cross after cross and effort after effort towards the Gedling goal kept getting thwarted and wade ball then collected a ball on the edge of the box before letting fly towards to far corner and the goalkeeper again got down to push it wide. very good defensive work from Oliver Preston and Jake McIntosh kept the danger man for the hosts at bay. not long later some good link up play and barrow found nick reeves in the box where the trusted midfielder normally puts it away but his effort just flew over the bar and it didn't look like it were gonna be barrow town day. Andrei again got in behind the defence and should have scored but his effort could only fly past the far post. surely it were just a matter of time but with time running out, in about the 80 minute wade ball won the ball back in midfield before releasing nick reeves down the left, he then waited for the overlapping run from Andrei and when reeves set him in the pull back from Andrei were inch perfect and tom Mangan hit a left foot shot into the top corner putting barrow town deserving 2-1 up.

2 should have became 3 when a fantastic free kick from Pradeep Bahrey met the head of daz Taylor who's effort got pushed onto the post and unknown to everyone in the ground somehow evaded Andrei with the ball rebounding off the post and through the wingers legs on the line with what surely looked like a tap in.
