Kunal gets the girl and the awards

The dinner in the middle of November went pretty well I would say with Kunal taking the spoils. He is now fully married (I think) after the several ceremonies and he is a very happy man although he is not much of a dancer.

Barnesy kicked things off with a brief speech and then Adi stepped up to receive his most improved award with a typically big smile. Sooty then stood up and picked Kunal for his batter and fielder while Luke Grant was his bowler. Sooty was also given his clubman of the year award back to him plus a new trophy.

George had the shakes as he did the 2nd team awards with Wolfy the fielder, Barnesy milked the moment for his batsmen award while Himath was India the jammy thing so couldn’t accept his bowling award. Food was then digested.

The Pres then did his thing and picked Barnesy hitting runs while being old fat, injured and knackered for his champagne moment. Not a vintage year for moments to be fair.
Barnesy then stayed there while he kissed the tea ladies and Daughton for their amazing help.
Furny then made fun of Tillbrook and Jimmy mostly in his speech which he will probably give a rest next year, especially as he can’t help being rude. The bit about no sex was true, in fact I can remember clearly the last time I had sex as I kept the receipt.

Rhodri then bit his tongue and was very polite in his speech as Jonny was best bowler, Jamie fielder and a rather drunk Tillbrook was best batter who had an equally drunk Kirstie by his side who spent much of the evening eating each other’s face off.

Finally, Luke Grant stood in for his gramp to present the players player which went to Kunal as voted for by everyone else. A popular choice.

The raffle was expertly done by Wolfy and family (much thanks) then chat and drinks were commenced. Thanks to everyone for helping with the night itself and notably Jimmy for the bus and awards. I can’t stress enough how much gratitude I and many of us have for all the help that goes on behind the scenes to keep us going.

Barnesy and Furny went to the league AGM where it was confirmed after some voting that the 1s in div 4 will stay at 45 overs with 12.30 starts while the 2s will stay at 1pm and 40 overs. The points system will be total for the 1s and average for the 2s who are in Div 9. May 4th is the start with the 1s away to Radyr 2s and 2s home to Creigiau 2s.

May the 4th is the 124th day of the year so that’s what I will be counting down for on New Years Eve. Jimmy will be putting a message out soon about nets and The AGM will be along shortly so look out for that.
Congratulations to Wands legend Lonny who was presented with
