Barton started well moving the ball with pace especially down the right with Henry Harrison tormenting the Notts defence all game. The new midfield pairing of Charles Manning and Johnny Haines took control of the midfield, and after a period of sustained pressure Manning found Farrington in the D, whose shot was well saved by the keeper, but Ian Tilke was on hand to slot in the rebound. North Notts began to fight back with Brian Sutherland in the Barton goal making some fine saves, but eventually Notts pressure paid off with them grabbing an equaliser before half time.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first with both teams having spells of pressure with good defending keeping the scores level. Barton regained the lead after they were awarded a short corner, where, after the initial shot, Bill Mason was on hand to fire Barton into the lead. Again Notts fought back to level the scores and with time running out the game looked like it was heading for a draw, until Harry Harrison charging forward from right back played a great ball into Henry Harrison who capped off his man of the match performance to slot home a deserved winner.
A big thank you to all the players for a great team effort and another win.
