Coventry Sphinx 0 Barwell 2

Two first half goals away at Sphinx Drive were enough to give Barwell a deserved victory as they proved too strong for Midland Alliance Coventry Sphinx.
The two league difference was apparent from the start and keeper Liam Castle was hardly troubled throughout the match.

Goals from new signing Ryan Robbins in the 19th minute and Matt Brown in the 27th saw Barwell comfortably home.

The first was a Danny Gaunt free kick floated to the far post where Richard Lavery was on hand to head goalwards. The ball was helped home at the far post by Ryan Robbins.

Scorer turned provider for the second as Robbins made a searching run into the box and squared for Matt Brown who had a simple drive from short distance to get on the scoresheet.

The scoreline could have been much different but for a number of excellent chances that were well saved by the home keeper who performed brilliantly.
