Splendid second half secures derby delight - report by Roger Goadby

The home side dominated the early stages of the game and in the 4th minute a break from loanee Harrison Nee on the left led to the first opportunity of the game. In the 11th minute, the Canaries took the lead with a great header by Kyle Rowley from an excellent corner by Deen Master. A few minutes later, Barwell had a great opportunity to increase their advantage when a through ball from Melis Bushaj put Beck-Ray Enoru clear, but were defied by a great save by visiting keeper Tony Breedon. In the 21st minute, Nuneaton had their first opportunity when Matt Stenson saw his close range shot well saved by Andy Wycherley in the home goal. The visitors continued to press and gained a corner after good work by Tyrell Waite, but in the 36th minute Kane Richards saw a great shot well saved by Wycherley at the expense of another corner. Nuneaton then gained a free kick 23 yards out, which Max Brogan put over the bar.

In the 49th minute, Nuneaton were awarded a penalty which was converted by Ryan Beswick to give the visitors a deserved equaliser. Barwell quickly took control and regained the lead when following a corner D. Master scored after good work by George Ward. Midway through the second half, Barwell had a great opportunity to increase their lead when Nee was put clear but shot weakly, straight at the visiting keeper. Nuneaton fought back and in the 82nd minute Richards' close range shot brought out a great save from home goalkeeper Wycherley. With 3 minutes remaining, Barwell scored their third goal when following a great move started by captain Brady Hickey, who had an excellent game, Nee scored to give the home side a deserved victory in front of a crowd of 423.
