Barwell travel to fellow Canaries on Saturday 30th November for a 3pm kick off in the Southern League. Last season Hitchin Town did the double over Barwell with a 2-0 with at Top Field followed by a 1-0 win at Kirkby Road. Guy Hadland and the team will be looking for a better result this time around.
Hitchin Town have had some good results recently and have risen to 16th in the league with 18 points from 16 games. Last time out they drew 1-1 with Nuneaton Borough but won their previous 3 games against Redditch United, St Ives Town and Coalville Town. Their last defeat was at Leiston on 19th October.
In between a draw and then defeat to Redditch United in the Buildbase FA Trophy, Barwell beat Royston Town 3-1 in the league. The previous league game to that was an exciting 4-4 draw with Hednesford Town. Barwell are 11th in the league with 23 points from 15 games.
Top Field is one of the classic non-league grounds and well worth a visit. It is believed to have been first used in 1873. The ground is walkable from the Town Centre and Railway Station. SG5 1NU gets you there.
Kick off is at 3pm on Saturday and, as ever, it will be great to see Barwell fans make the journey.
