Barwell were lucky to escape defeat with a last ditch equaliser in a poor game where neither side were able to impress.
Conditions were far from ideal making creative football difficult and there were few chances in the first period.
Early on, Barwell keeper Liam Castle was spared his blushes as a failed clearance fell to Droylsden’s Domaine Rouse who lobbed goalwards but Castle ran back to gather.
Nigel Julien had Barwell’s best chance of the first period but having created space in the box he slipped the ball to Tyrone Kirk who fail to capitalise.
Droylesden opened the scoring a minute before the break as Luke Sharry crossed from the left and Dan Meadowcroft drove the ball home from close range.
The Bloods extended their lead after 52 minutes as Sam Madeley muscled his way past the Barwell defence to sidefoot home.
Barwell had to wait until the final ten minutes to pull back a penalty after Bloods’keeper Craig Doodson fouled Luke Barlone and was lucky to escape with a yellow card. Anthony Griffith-Junior struck home the spot kick on 83 minutes.
The Canaries equalised in the third extra minute when a corner from Sam Young fell to full back Scott Lower who volleyed into the net from four yards.
