Tamworth started the brighter of the two teams and nearly went ahead in the first minute when Dan Creaney attempted a cheeky chip which beat Kieran Preston but drifted just wide.
Within 10 minutes Tamworth’s Billal Yafai had his effort cleared off the line following a corner.
Basford started to get back into the game and went on to have the best chances of the half. On the 20-minute mark, James Reid found space for a great strike that forced a fine stop from Jas Singh in the Tamworth goal and Conor Green went close on the half-hour mark but neither could break the deadlock.
Reid struck the bar with a fantastic free kick from 25 yards as the first half petered out with the score still 0-0.
As the second half began it was clear much of the same was to come as Basford continued to create chances. The lively Green put in a great cross on the 55th minute but none of his teammates were on hand to convert.
Tamworth came close just after the hour mark when Jordan Gough was put through on goal by Revarnelle James but his shot went wide.
Neither side managed anything of note throughout the rest of the match culminating in a 0-0 draw.
