The image is of Paul, and his son, down at the weekend putting rubbish bins on every light stancheon. Like a great many parents and players (past and present) he gives up his time to help maintain Lambridge, and there is a lot to maintain at our humble ground.
Why? Perhaps it is because he enjoys watching his son play and wants to help out. Perhaps it is also becuase he knows that if he didn't do it - it simply wouldn't happen.
We all enjoy playing, or watching, the rugby at Lambridge, yet perhaps too few of us truly recognise that it really is 'our' club; there are no paid staff, it is maintained solely by those people that volunteer to help out (parents and players, past and present).
So please be more Fenton.....or McGladdery, Watson, Painter, Knight, Binding, Edwards....and pick up litter when you see it, empty some of the bins perhaps, sweep the changing rooms on occasion, decide you'll wipe the tables after a meal, volunteer to help behind the bar, or mop the floor, help fix the shower....etc.
Many of you do already, but what we need is for everybody to recognise it is their club and think 'I can do my bit to help'.
