With half term the squad was a trim 10 boys on Sunday but this gave us the chance to focus on some core passing and tagging skills training before moving onto a 5 aside game. With a regulation pitch the guys demonstrated good running, passing and tagging with Charlie M scoring an excellent try having received a ball at pace.
A new rule was announced limiting players to 3 tries, this was designed to encourage team work as going forward they could only assist in tries. Max S was the first to 3 tries and was quickly followed by others providing an entertaining final 5 minutes as only one or the two of the team were eligible to score and had to work to get their colleagues into try scoring positions.
Jon Fry who has not been to watch for some weeks was very impressed with the improvements in the standard of rugby as were most of those on the side line. We are starting to get back into festival season again and if we continue to improve at this rate we should do well.
Next weekend will be against Clifton and Richmond which will be a good test.
We look forward to seeing you then.
