On behalf of Bourne Deeping Hockey Club I would like to welcome your child to the club and provide you with some information about our activities.

The club provides opportunities for young people between the ages of 6 and 18years to receive coaching and competition in friendly matches and county competitions. All coaching is delivered by both adults and Young Leaders who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people. We also support the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.
In 2010, the club successfully achieved Sport England's ClubsFirst which is awarded by England Hockey when a club is able to demonstrate that it meets the EH’s standards with it’s playing programme; safeguarding and protecting children; sports equity and ethics and club management. ClubsFirst is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we strive to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in the sport. Our Club Welfare Officer, Graham Brewer is responsible for ensuring that our child protection policy is implemented and all coaches and leaders are given annual Safeguarding training. For further details and copies of all policy documents please register on the Club website, www.pitchero.com/club/bdhc or check on our noticeboard displayed every Saturday .

We organise friendly matches for all age groups throughout the season against other local clubs and hope players can play as often as they can. We are keen for players to experience competitive hockey and compete in the u12 and u14 Lincolnshire Junior Leagues. At both age groups we have squads who train together on Saturdays from which our team managers select 3 teams for each tournament (up to 6 through the season including a finals competition).

Arrangements should be made for your child to travel to and from training sessions and matches. Often other parents are willing to support and share travel. We would appreciate it if children are collected promptly at the end of the session unless you inform us that they are making their own way home.

Players who wish to train and play in the senior squads may join our senior club when in school yr 8 and can play senior hockey at 13 years old.

We provide shinguards and sticks at every training session to borrow and have mouthguards available to buy.
For the safety of your child it is important that the club is informed of any medical condition or allergies that may be relevant should your child fall ill or be involved in an accident whilst at a session. I would be grateful if you could complete the Player Personal Details form below and bring to the first training session.
