After squandering a 2-0 half time lead, the Dragons will be disappointed that they were unable to come away with all three points, but will look to take the positives into next week's local derby against Spalding.
Ben Slack had put the Dragons in a healthy position with a short corner strike before doubling his tally with some quick thinking and positive play, waltzing unchallenged into the St Neots' 'D' straight from a self taken long corner to finish neatly into the bottom corner.
St Neots then hit Bourne Deeping hard with 2 quick goals within minutes of the restart, one a quick counter attack, the other a penalty corner to bring the scores level.
With neither team able to keep possession for sustained periods, there were chances at both ends. Adi Portlock in the Bourne Deeping goal was alert and aggressive, using all the equipment at his disposal to keep the ball out, (including his helmet!) before Callum Howitt finished off some great work in the 'D' by Tom Allam to give the away side the lead once more. However, St Neots again came back with another penalty corner strike to spoil the party and take a hard fought point.
