New Players, new league...lets get this rolling!

A beautiful blue sky to start the hockey season, the Dragons started off with great pace and marking the opposition well forcing them back all the time. St Neots found some space and had their first opportunity which was saved off the Post and cleared by Ellie, this gave the Dragons there first break with Emily moving the ball midfield for Annabel to pass to Kay Greenaway just going wide of the goal, this gave the Dragons some belief and with some change of play Gemma took the ball into the D creating the Dragons first short corner again the St Neots Defense working well giving them the break and the Dragons on the back foot giving them the chance with short corner again well defended by Ellie, the Dragons think the game is going to pause due to another defenders foot in the D however the umpire allows play to continue and St Neots score. The game continues back an forth for the rest of the first half with both sides having there chances but both teams having great defense, Jo Morgan-Walters saving off the line and Alex Parker and Nadine Curtis defending the goal area so well.The second half started with the Dragons giving it there all with some fabulous runs and Christi going wide of the goal, St Neots had there chances again the Dragons defending well. Gemma gets the ball from Emily Anderson to drive into the D back passes to Kay Greenaway, Christi is waiting near the goal post, kay passes the ball Christi takes the shot and again the St Neots keeper is on her toes and saves the ball. A few minutes later St Neots get a short corner they strike the ball well and it comes off the keeps pads into the goal. The Dragons keep on fighting with several opportunities to even up the score line but always just too wide or the keeper is there ready. With 5 more mins of the Dragons defending for all there worth St Neots gain a third goal. The Dragons have little left but go again with all the defense coming through again St Neots defend well and the last minutes are spent with the Dragons defending again the score finishes 0-3 to St Neots.
