Saturday 29 March 2025, was a momentous and memorable day in the history of Beccehamian RFC, as the club proudly celebrated the 25th anniversary of its adult women's teams.
The occasion was made even more special by the official opening of the club’s brand-new changing rooms, a significant milestone marked by former England Women’s Captain, Maxine Edwards MBE.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to England RFU, and Rick Bruin in particular, for their continued and invaluable support of Beccs, who are proud to be part of the RFU’s Impact '25 programme, aimed at accelerating the growth and accessibility of all aspects of rugby for women and girls.
Additionally, our Girls' players had the fantastic opportunity to participate in an engaging training session with Vicky Alexander (RFU Women & Girls Growth Activator) and Mark Finnis (RFU Club Developer), making the day even more memorable.
The day was enriched by the presence of our esteemed guests from The Royal Hospital Chelsea, who joined us for a friendly and spirited game of walking rugby. In an impressive show of participation, Beccs fielded three women-only walking rugby teams, highlighting the strength and inclusivity of our club.
A particularly heartwarming aspect of the event was the return of numerous Beccs Adult Women’s legends—both past players and supporters—who have played a vital role in shaping the team’s journey from 1999 to the present day. Their contributions over the years have been invaluable in building the strong and vibrant women’s rugby community we celebrate today.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, supported, fundraised, and sponsored this incredible day, as well as those who have played a part in the Beccs Big Build. With the changing rooms now complete, our sights are set on the next phase of this exciting development—the ROOF TERRACE!
