Fundraised £4,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity over two weekends.

To all the organisers, helpers, volunteers, early starters and late finishers, and everyone supporting from the sidelines at the CJ memorial festival for U7-U9s on Sunday 10 and U10+U11s Sunday 17 March, THANK YOU. You all collectively raised a fantastic £4,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity over two weekends, in loving memory of CJ.

Importantly, the very best and humbling part of our sport was the perfectly observed minute applause in memory of CJ on both weekends, just before kick off at 10am, closely followed by seeing all the games starting and the fun being had by all, makes it all absolutely worth while.

A rather awesome fundraising effort too, with £2,235 raised for the Brain Tumour Charity on the first weekend alone. Backed up with nearly £1,800 on the second weekend (17 March), bringing the collective total to £4,000.

One cannot begin to start to explain, to those that have either never been involved in a mini festival before, or experiencing if for the first time, the sheer volume of work and crucial steps that are required behind the scenes to facilitate these festivals, both in advance and on the day itself. A considerable number of dedicated people continually and voluntarily step up, to provide the environment for everyone's enjoyment, many of whom do not even have children in the age groups playing. Everyone knows exactly who you are, and the hugely valued contribution you selflessly provide.

To Garry & Sheila Jordan, you are frankly an inspiration to us all. Having raised over £30,000 in Christy’s memory in two years, your strength and determination in truly devastating circumstances, is making considerable difference to others sadly fighting Brain Tumours.

Finally, a very touching message from one of our new Beccs coaches, which very neatly sums it all up:
"Such an emotional day, in reality everybody got to play some good rugby in memoriam of a top, top boy...an absolute legend of a boy, gone too soon...remembered by our family club forever more. I never got to meet the lad, but hearing all the positive stories throughout today, he is going to be a boy/lad/man forever in our hearts and an inspiration from all the boys and girls starting out from the minis and upwards...a family club first and forever"

Thank you again to all our most wonderful and dedicated Beccehamian RFC family.
