Bowl Runners Up and Shield Winners

[centre][b][size=large]AWESOME END TO THE U9S SEASON AT THE WASPS BRITA CUP

Following on from last weeks Tour, the U9s played in their final festival of the season. Which can only be described as one of our best days yet and memories that will last forever.

The day started at 6.45 am. (NOT A TYPO) Meeting at Sparrow Den and with everyone on time, we set off to compete against some of Berkshire's finest.

When getting there, the Beccs Crusaders and Raiders were drawn in Pool 2 and 3. Both Teams competed fantastically and they were not deterred playing some very good sides. Both managed a win and by doing so the Crusaders qualified for the Bowl Semi Final, Raiders the Shield Semi Final.

(Will fill in the scores when received from Ray and Mike)

The Teams then played their best rugby yet, Firstly, the Crusaders coming back from 2 tries down to win 5-4 vs Reading. Then the Raiders turn, winning 7-3 vs Aylesbury.

So both teams qualifying for a final was AWESOME.

In the finals, both Teams played with true Beccs Spirit. The Crusaders battled well against Marlow and was always chasing the game. Marlow were tough opponents, winning by 2 tries. The Raiders played another Aylesbury team and what an evenly matched game, Raiders coming from 5-4 down to win 6-5 in the dying minute.

CRUSADERS - BOWL RUNNER UP
RAIDERS - SHIELD WINNERS

Yet again, our mixed ability approach reaped reward. All 22 children stepped up their game when needed and played with pride. MASSIVE WELL DONE.

Now that the festival had finished, we headed for Adams Park to watch the Mighty Wasps play Newcastle Falcons.

Could this day get any better, OH Yes!!

We already knew that the team would be parading their trophy at half time but as Hemel Hempstead and Wasps FC (Cup and Plate Winners) were not attending the game, the organisers asked us to join in the Guard of Honour at the start of the match.

I have placed some photos upon the website for all to see.

On Behalf of the coaching Team I would like to thank the U9s children for a great 2013/2014 season. Your commitment and effort every week is first class and be proud of what you have achieved. U9 Parents for your continued support.

Finally, thank you fellow coaches for you time and enthusiasm, making this year an AWESOME season. One we will never forget.

WELL DONE
