Under 7s @ Westcombe Park Festival

It turned out to be a lovely bright day at Westcombe and Paul Hewitt's team indeed shone brightly after a difficult start. First game lost 5-1 and though plenty of effort and endeavour, and much energy spent, we lost our way in running sideways and backwards and coughing up the ball rather easily. Enthusiasm could not be faulted but plenty of room for improvement.

The first half of the second game was rather similar and at half time we were 5-2 down. Thankfully from this point on the boys (& young lady) turned the corner and produced some cracking rugby. We finely drew this game 7-7 with a superb second half display.

The next two games were also very spirited affairs drawing 3-3 and 5-5 and in fairness both could quite easily have been won.

There is no doubt we have a talented and enthusiastic squad of players and we had many tantalising glimpses here of just how effective they can be when they focus and turn on the quality rugby they are all capable of.

Another massive thank you to the parents for their loyal support and especially to the players for representing Beccs so well.
