Beccs U13s have had a fantastically solid first half of the 2019-20 season, finishing strongly with three consecutive wins against Vigo, Park House and Westcombe Park in December.
Prior to this winning streak, the squad produced a great morning’s play at the Kent Waterfall on 17th November, winning two matches out of three – against hosts Aylesford and Cranbrook – and losing by just two tries to more local rivals Sidcup.
In early November the U13s, or more accurately our centre Ollie Dimond, achieved victory by just 5 points over Maidstone at home in a high scoring 40-35 affair. Tackling was not the winner on that day!
October saw the team’s only defeat outside of the Kent Waterfall, against a strong Beckenham team, who ran in 8 tries to our 5. This followed our only match in September and our only draw of the season so far, away to Old Colfeians.
In summary, the U13s results so far have been: P9, W6, D1, L2. But even more pleasing is the other number – the size of our squad - which has grown this season to a very healthy 22 players. The coaches would like to thank all of the players for their hard work and high level of performance, and the players’ parents for their continued support.
Looking ahead to the fixtures coming up after Christmas, we look forward to hosting Canterbury, against whom we had a fantastic game in the Kent Waterfall last year, and we’ll be pulling out all the stops in an attempt get even with Sidcup from a few weeks ago!
