For those of you not in the know, Mitcham U13's and Old Midwives U13's have joined forces for the season to allow them both to contest fixtures as both squads were struggling with numbers.
We have met Mitcham and their coaches many times and it was good to meet them again. It was equally nice to meet Old Midwives team and have a look around their grounds too - and what grounds too. The pitch was like a fairway on a golf course - lovely. The clubhouse is really well laid out and everyone was friendly too.
We brought a couple of our number from the "A" game along to make up numbers if injuries occurred and this came in handy. Old Mitcham Midwives borrowed a flanker from us during the three 20-minute sessions. If we'd thought about it a bit more, perhaps we might have not given them our better players as they ran in three tries for the opposition during the match.
The match was played in good spirits with everyone enjoying a great display of rugby.
Special mention to Jacob Ferguson, Brandon Buamah & Matthew Tokarski for making up numbers even though they had already played one hard match.
Well done to all involved.
