Westcliff Rugby Club visited us from Southend on this bright, sunny Autumn morning, one of the best teams in Essex, who came looking for a tough game and certainly got one in this bruising encounter.
Beccs kicked off the first half and were camped in Westcliff's half for the first 22 minutes until Westcliff broke away and scored the an unconverted try. 0-5.
A minute later they scored their second try which Westcliff converted try: 0-12.
Some tough play with Beccs looking to break through and Westcliff scored their 3rd converted try on the half hour. 0-19.
Westcliff scored the 4th try on 33 minutes which was converted taking their lead to 0-26.
Westcliff made use of their strong, fast backs and passed quick ball down the line. During this half we saw both Luke and Herb come off injured. Luke was able to return in the second half. Herb wasn't able to return and we wish you well Herb.

Beccs received the ball in the second half and used the ball quickly, despite strong defence by Westcliff, Max broke down the wing to score Beccs first, unconverted try after 48 minutes 5-26.
Beccs were awarded a penalty on Westcliff's 22, quickly taken, which was swiftly taken over the line by Seiji for our second unconverted try at 53 minutes. 10-26.
Westcliff responded quickly and came back with a converted try 4 minutes later. 10-33.
Westcliff scored again at 67 and 70 minutes to finish the game at 10-45.

Despite the score line all our players played well with the usual fearsome tackling from James V and Max M. Great running through from the forwards along with mauling and rucks.
