Holt II 41 – 10 Beccles II
In an all too familiar story this season Beccles once again travelled for a fixture without a full side. Preparations were made worse by late arrivals due to an accident leaving Beccles.
The players who did make it put on an excellent display of committed rugby keeping the game scoreless for 25 minutes and scoring a first half try of their own through outstanding scrum half Karl Casson and only trailing 12-5 at the break.
The seven Beccles forwards continued to win good scrum ball against the home sides much bigger eight and battled hard, however the rear guard action was made a touch more difficult when Beccles lost a player to injury, raising the Holt player advantage to two players and the greater advantage, raft of replacements took their toll.
Beccles continued to work hard, with full back Simon Bloomfield making many telling tackles and Daren Maeer making a nuisance of himself at the breakdown. Beccles scored again through Giddins, however the fresher Holt side added some more scores to put a finer gloss on the performance.
Numbers at training are a must in readiness for the next match away to Watton 1st December
