In the current circumstances there are a lot of unknowns and not very many knowns about next season. This is the time of year when the season structure would be notified, fixtures would be announced and plans made for a new campaign. As of yet we know very little other than which league Bedford Athletic will be playing in (as above).
What we do know is that neither the structured season nor the fixtures will be issued by the RFU at this time or in the near future. The RFU have announced a six step return to play protocol of which we are currently at step 2 and in which we have to reach step 6 before matches are possible in the community game. Very broadly this means that the government will have to relax social distancing guidelines.
It is unlikely therefore that matches will begin in September. Training will become possible at various stages but this is as far as rugby goes at the moment. In addition the club house remains closed and staff remain furloughed.
As and when this situation changes and there is news to report we will update this website. The only activity possible at the current time is a limited training regime ... for more information please contact Oli Joisce or Andy Phillips.
