Bedford Hockey Club is seeking a motivated and skilled Coach (or Player-Coach) to take on the role of BHC Ladies - Head of Performance, with the primary focus of leading our Women’s 1st Team as we aim for an immediate return to the National League from the East Prem next season.

With the exciting launch of two brand new water-based pitches over the summer, this is a pivotal moment to join a large, friendly, well-established and ambitious club. We’re looking for someone who can drive performance on the pitch, but just as importantly, someone who communicates with clarity, consistency and confidence—bringing players together and creating a cohesive squad.

The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic coach who can:

• Lead and inspire a talented squad with strong, clear communication.
• Design and deliver purposeful, high-quality training sessions for the L1/2’s squads
• Develop a clear team identity and tactical game plan.
• Support individual growth and promote a positive, high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with club leadership and support teams to achieve shared goals.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Be available to lead weekly training sessions and matches plus pre-season friendlies
• Have recent proven experience as a coach or high-level player with a passion for developing others.
• Hold (or be working towards) Level 2 or higher coaching qualifications.
• Be an exceptional communicator, able to motivate, mentor and build a great team culture
• Demonstrate leadership, commitment, professionalism, and a desire to drive long-term progress
