It's been another busy week at the Eyrie, as we prepare for our re-arranged home game against Biggleswade Town at home tomorrow. Once more, we would like to thank the Waders for agreeing to bring our fixture against them forward from March to tomorrow. Hosting the game tomorrow doesn't just fill the void left by Kettering's progression in the Emirates FA Cup, but also enables us to continue to generate important Saturday match day revenue at an important time in the year. We hope that all attending tomorrow's fixture have an enjoyable day. Kick off is at 3pm, and remember to get your tickets in advance now to save money on the gate.
There will be a couple of new faces in Lee Bircham's squad tomorrow. Firstly, we welcome James Clifton on loan from Spalding United. James is a 33 year old midfielder (we all wish him many happy returns for his birthday yesterday), and has previously been with Basford, Corby, Boston United, Oxford City and Nuneaton. James has joined on loan from the Tulips until Christmas and is available for all fixtures between now and then. Everyone at the Eyrie would like to thank Spalding for their patience and assistance with this loan agreement.
Next through the Eyrie door is Lewis Taaffe. Lewis (pictured) is a 33 year old midfielder and joins us permanently from Enfield Town. He made 130 appearances in the Conference leagues for Histon and 160 appearances for Concord Rangers. After spells with Hemel Hempstead and Billericay, he moved to Enfield Town making 185 appearances for them. He now transfers to the Eyrie ready to be an important part of Lee Bircham's side.
We welcome both James and Lewis to the club. Both are registered in time for tomorrow's fixture.
In fixture news, we now have a confirmed date for our trip to AFC Telford United. The tie was originally due to take place on Saturday 16th November but was postponed due to their involvement at Hadley in the FA Trophy. The game will now take place on Tuesday 28th January 2025, kicking off at 7:45pm.
In the club shop, we've added some new tracksuit top ranges. These are special new additions from our partners at Kappa and available to buy from tomorrow's game. They are an ideal winter warmer to give as a Christmas present for the eager Eagle in your life. So please pop in to see them and the other items we have available to buy tomorrow.
Finally, there's been some important webinars for the club this week surrounding sustainability and facility development. The club is always on the look out to improve the Eyrie, making it more greener, professional and welcoming. It is our stance that we would like this to be in connection with local business where possible. If you are interested in linking up with the club to achieve this, please contact us via our social media streams.
