Bedford Town FC can confirm Alex Street has committed his future to the club, becoming our first signing ahead of the new season. The 29 year old goalkeeper joined the club from Kings Lynn in November, following his departure from the Walks earlier in the season.

Alex is a highly respected goalkeeper, having played at Kings Lynn for much of the last decade. He had spells at Leiston, Wisbech and Spalding but it is at the Linnets where he has achieved the most in his career.

Street was part of the successful Lynn side that won back-to-back promotions from step four and three, before winning the National League North last season to achieve Lynn's highest ever league placing. In all three promotion campaigns, the keeper has played every single game and was an integral part of their success. His immense record in his 460 games for Kings Lynn speaks for itself.

We're also delighted to confirm that Alex has agreed and signed a one year contract at the Eyrie.

Speaking to www.bedfordeagles.net, Manager Gary Setchell said "I'm delighted that Alex has come back to join us at the Eyrie. I've worked with him at Lynn for many years, and his quality as a keeper is one of the best in non-league. It is a shame that the fans never saw the best of him, having only played one away game last season. However, I'm sure his quality will now show as he becomes our number one for the coming season."

The club are now just seven weeks away from our first friendly, taking place at the Eyrie on Tuesday 29th June against Biggleswade FC. Full details of this, and the rest of the preseason programme, will be released soon.
