Club thanks departing members of the management team and playing squad.

Bedford Town Football Club can confirm that Assistant Manager Martin Standen, Coach Gil Octave and Goalkeeping Coach Jack Mudge have all left their positions this week.

Standen had been finding it incredibly difficult to contribute the time required to the role of assistant, and made the decision to step away last week. Speaking to the club's official website, he said "After a lot of thought and tireless hours at work, I've decided to step away from the football club. Managing my business (which is really taking off) and seeing my son is becoming a struggle with being involved with the club."

Stanno continued "I want to say a massive thank you to everyone involved at the club, including the supporters and especially Jon Taylor and Mark Ducket for bringing me in and believing in what we wanted to achieve."

The Eagles can also confirm that Gil Octave has stepped down from his role at the club. Personal circumstances had meant he too was finding it difficult to commit time to his role. Gil has been an influential member of the management team over the last five years, and he will be missed by us all at the Eyrie. We would like to thank him for his contributions and keeping the playing staff steady in what was the transitions between managers and also during the period following the death of David Taylor last year.

The club would also like to thank Jack Mudge, who has departed.

The Eagles can confirm that Carl Mensah and Connor Sansom have departed the club. Mensah is in the process of completing a transfer to another PitchingIn Southern League Division One Central Club. Sansom has decided work commitments and travelling to the Eyrie are too much at this stage to continue his involvement. We would like to thank both players for their commitment this season, and wish them all the best for their future clubs.

Speaking to the club's official website, manager Mark Ducket commented "It's obviously extremely disappointing that we are losing members of the management team due to various personal circumstances. Nonetheless, I fully understand why all three need to step away and focus on their own situations at this time."

Commenting about the departure of Mensah and Sansom, Ducket continued "Both lads have been excellent throughout preseason and I'm disappointed to see that it hasn't worked out with them having to travel up to games. Nonetheless, we need to have players who want to be at the football club and we will replace them going forward."

The club will make no further comment about the positions that have been vacated in the management team at this stage. The recruitment of a new assistant manager is ongoing.

Martyn Cannon will be contacting sponsors of all the individuals who are departing to reassign your sponsorship to another member of the squad.
