Bedford Town face Royston Town in the first game of a new era for the Eagles. Bedford Town Football Club recently announced the appointment of Paul Davis as new manager.
Paul Davis joins the club with plenty of experience at this level managing teams such as Redditch United, Stratford Town and Banbury United. He was recently a part of the backroom staff at Hemel Hempstead Town and he knows the Southern League Central Premier Division very well.
The Eagles are coming off the back of a 6-1 win at home to AFC Rushden & Diamonds and on an unbeaten run. A draw at Tamworth and wins against Barwell and Diamonds sees the Eagles soar up to twelfth place in the league.
The team will be feeling confident going into this match as they look to make it three wins in a row. Its been a great time in front of goal recently for Bedford as Connor Tomlinson reached ten goals against Diamonds as well as a Charley Sanders hat-trick.
Royston Town will be looking to replicate the last match against Bedford as the Crows came away from The Eyrie with a 0-2 win.
The Crows are currently in fourteenth place on twenty-seven points from twenty-two matches. Royston have had a very up and down season with results varying.
Royston have some former Eagles in their squad. Nathan Tshikuna and Shaun Keane are some of the players who are with the Crows now. Shaun Keane won the title with the Eagles last season but has since moved on.
Overall, this match promises to be a good one as Bedford Town begin life under Paul Davis at Garden Walk.
