The Eagles fell to a 1-0 defeat on the road against Alvechurch in what was a tough game for Bedford Town. Archie Crowther’s first half effort was just about enough for the home side to win the game.
The game got off to a quiet start with limited chances for either side. It was a cagey match as each team struggled to break each other down in the early stages.
However, this all changed in the thirteenth minute when the home side took the lead. A superb looping header from Archie Crowther was enough to break the deadlock.
The rest of the first half consisted of both sides struggling to create decent chances. Tyrone Barnett was the danger man for the Church and was at the centre of their attack.
The Eagles were getting into the game in the second half and Ryan Blake in particular was making things happen but nothing was coming from this pressure.
It was a disappointing defeat for the Eagles who will be looking to bounce back in the next match.
