For a second Saturday in a row, Bedford travel the other side of the A1 to Hertfordshire to play on a 3G pitch. This time it’s Hertford Town; just under 5 miles away from Ware FC. This will be a very stiff test, as a few managers in the division, including our own Gary Setchell have remarked that Hertford are a good footballing side.
Earlier in the season, Bedford beat Hertford 3-2 at the Eyrie, coming back from 2-1 down at half time, and even going down to nine men.
Bedford are 2nd in the form guide, with Hertford 13th.
Obinna Ogbonna scored twice for Hertford in their fixture against the Eagles, and he is their top scorer at the moment with 11 goals in the league.
Hertford are no slouches with attendances either, beating their higher placed neighbours, Ware, in the average attendance league, as they are 4th with an average of 222.
It’s hard to determine the outcome of this game, as a lot of people believe Hertford are in a false position. On the other hand, their last game resulted in a 2-1 loss at home to Kempston Rovers.
Bedford suffered a couple of worries during the dramatic and deserved win over Ware, with Callum Donnelly and Joe Steele both substituted with troubling with knee injuries.
If you are going on Saturday, Hertford play at Hertingfordbury Park, West Street, Hertford, SG13 8EZ.
The Eagles will be playing in the white kit, as Hertford also play in blue.
Happy travelling.
