Bedgrove Dynamos U10 Youth have an off day!
By Piyush Naik
After a disruption to training, due to poor weather and pitch conditions, Bedgrove Dynamos U10s Youth seemed to forget how to play!
It was a glorious autumnal day with clear blue skies, perfect conditions for playing and watching football. Teams observed a minutes silence in honour of the fallen war heroes for Remembrance Day.
Aiming to build on the performances and results from last weekends matches against Risborough Rangers, the prematch team talk was all about working as a team and continuing with the pass, control and movement. The Risborough Manager was so impressed with our performances he sent us an email telling us which we duly passed on to the players - a great confidence boost going into the 1st match.
Alas it seemed to do the opposite! With the plaudits ringing in their ears, Bedgrove Dynamos seemed to sit back as if the games was already won without kicking a ball!
After a slow scrappy few minutes, the deadline was broken with an error from the Downley goalkeeper which gifted the ball to Alex to poke home from 2 yards. Bedgrove settled down and but for the keeper and some last ditched defending, Emmanuel could have had a couple goals. The missed opportunities were punished by Downley who scored their 1st goal after some slopping defending. With some direct play Downley managed to get the ball into an unmarked attacker who scored unopposed! 1-1.
Both teams did not settle with possession changing frequently with few clear cut chances. Bedgrove began to loose shape and weren't able to string any passes together. A couple of goals in quick succession from Downley took the game away from Bedgrove.

Second half continued in much the similar way as the first. An unfortunate slip from Callan W, in defence, led to another goal from Downley 1-4. Bedgrove continued to struggle to get into any good play and created few chances. However in the closing minute's Emmanuel's persistence paid off with close range finish, 2-4 final score.
