Blue Team Unlucky not to qualify for Semi's

DYNAMOS U10's - RISBORO TOURNAMENT

Blue Team: Jay, Edward; Luca, Callum, Ollie; Conor, Kai, Charlie; Owen

First up were highly fancied Risboro team. After a cagey start, Owen had sight of goal but couldn't get his shot on target. Charlie and Kai combined well on the right and Charlie's shot was well saved.
At the back Callum and Luca were solid as always. Finally Dynamos got a breakthrough, Charlie won the ball in the middle and Owen raced through to beat the keeper. Jay was not called into action much but made a vital stop at the end. 1-0 Dynamos - Final Score.

Next up were Wycombe Saints....to say this was an eagerly waited match was an understatement. Dynamos were up for it and started brightly with Conor and Charlie working well together. Kai had the first shot whistle wide. Ollie was at the back with Callum and again holding firm. Edward was between the sticks and acting well when called upon. With only a few minutes left, Dynamos were struggling to make their total dominance count...that is until Charlie tried an audacious shot from 15 yards out which looped over the keeper and into the top corner...another 1-0 win....6 points out of 6.

As the sun shone and Dynamos support got louder, as pointed out by one referee, Dynamos were in pole position. Next up was a very good Chinnor team. Dynamos started slow and couldn't get going. Chinnor took advantage with an early goal. Dynamos rallied well and Kai went close with a shot and Owen had a header fly just over. However, Dynamos could not find the net. 1-0 loss.

Hughenden were our penultimate team and they were unbeaten so far. A victory for either team would put them in a commanding position. Kai, Conor and Callum were all pushing forward to support Owen up front, but again, Dynamos had all the pressure, but couldn't score a goal. Jay was in goal and made a couple of great saves to keep a clean sheet. A result neither team needed...0-0.

The final match was against our perennial rivals, Haddenham. With one match left, Haddenham, Chinnor and Dynamos were all joint top of the League Table with 7 points. This was a must win match !!
Unfortunately Haddenham exploded out of the blocks and scored a great header to put them 1-0 up. Soon after, they were 2-0 up when they scored a long range effort, beating Edward.
Dynamos then came alive and rallied well. Kai had a shot just over and Conor's shot went just wide of the target. Then, Luca came to thwart another Haddenham attack and smashed the ball clear. It bounced once...evaded the defence, bounced again and over the oncoming keeper...and into the goal !! WOW !!! Great shot (clearance). 2-1 down. The final minutes saw Owen on to try and get an equaliser, but not joy.

With Hughenden defeating Risboro in their final match, Dynamos ended up in 4th place, only 3 points from top spot.
All in all a good performance with 4 of the 5 opponents in a higher league. Well done boys.

Colts Team: Harley; Dillon, Connor; Colm, Benny, Vincent; Ellis

Our Colts team were invited to play in a Colts competition with Mark and Chris selecting a small team to play.

Their first match up was with Wendover. A slow start from Dynamos saw Harley make a couple of early saves. Dynamos were starting to push forward and Colm was getting some joy against the defence. Vincent was playing the holding role in the middle. 9 minutes was soon over and a 0-0 draw to start...could be worse.

Haddenham were next up with a strong looking team. Dynamos started well with Ellis and Colm both trying their luck from distance. Haddenham had a shot which just beat Harley to go 1-0 up. Dynamos battled hard with Benny and Vincent winning the midfield battle and Dillon having a stormer at the back. Alas, they couldn't find that elusive goal.

Risboro Eagles were next up and both teams were without a win and needing to get going. Connor Tweed was showing to be a leader out there and had a commanding performance at the back. Half way through the match and still no goals, Dillon won the ball and found Connor, he marauded forward and unleashed a rocket from 20 yards out beating their keeper. 1-0 Dynamos.
Soon after, Vincent battled hard to send Benny through, he beat the on-rushing keeper to make the final score 2-0. VICTORY !

Bedgrove were in 4th place now and looking to move up the table. However a stubborn Crendon team stood in their way. Despite battling hard, both teams could not find the net and the final score was 0-0.

There were a number of teams in with a shout at the last group match. Dynamos needed a win to be in with a shout. Risboro Kestrels were the opposition, also needing a win to qualify. Dynamos were too strong with first Vince banging in a great goal and then Colm firing in from 15 yards out. This meant Dynamos were 2nd in the group and in the semi-finals.

Dynamos drew Crendon in the Semi-Final, who they drew 0-0 with in the Group stage. It as going to be a tough match....or was it...?
Dynamos came out strong and were soon 1-0 up when a Vincent corner hit their defender and went in...own goal, but they all count. Next up was Colm, with his 2nd goal of the afternoon. He beat a player a curled the shot past the keeper.
Dynamos were then awarded a penalty for deliberate handball. The crowd chanted Ellis' name....and up he stepped. Ellis had been unlucky not to score all afternoon and this was his chance. Manager (and father) Mark covered his eyes...but Ellis strolled up to smash it past the keeper. 3-0.
After half time, Ellis, now with the hunger for more goals, beat the last defender and rolled in number 4. Benny, not to be outclassed, converted Vincents cross expertly for number 5.
In the final moments, Vincent decided to smash in number 6. 6-0 victory...onto the final !

The final was against Haddenham...the only team to beat Dynamos Colts in the league...and unfortunately history repeated itself. A very tired Dynamos team battled hard but shots from Colm, Vincent and Ellis could not find the target. Haddenham then scored with minutes to go and this meant a loss by 1-0 again.

Overall an excellent performance for the Colts. Clearly trying to spread the goals around, Connor 1, Vincent 2, Colm 2, Benny 2, Ellis 2.
Harley only conceded 2 goals in 7 matches. Dillon played a vital part at the back with Connor. Vincent held the midfield together with some superb tackling. Colm and Benny both helped out in defence and attack, with Ellis leading the line up front.
RUNNERS UP !!!
WELL DONE BOYS !!!
