Local Derby Take Two

Another local derby this week, as we host Leicestershire rivals Market Harborough. The two sides last faced off in a County Cup game in the Season 2019/2020 with Harborough running out winners in a closely fought contest.

Both sides are languishing in the bottom third of the table and this game could be described as a "ten pointer".

Belgrave come into this game on the back of a disappointing trip to Lutterworth, where we lost 25-10 and left plenty of chances out on the pitch, losing out to a far more clinical side.

However, this week is a new week and with a bumper crowd expected, as c150 people sit down for a Sponsor's Pre Match Lunch, the optimism is renewed and a strong side has been selected.

The front row is made up of Josh Jarvis, Sam Garner (Man of the Match last week, as voted by the opposition) and Ross Bailey. The Second Row has a wealth of experience - Nathan Wells and Mark Deaville and the back row is made up of skipper Elliott Walker, Liam Barnes and Jayden Darvill. Changes at half back again as Connor Jackson partners Dave Weston, (his first start for the club at Fly Half). Centres are unchanged Mikey Howes and Joe Pollard. The back three is Kev Curtis in his usual Fullback role, Roddy Campbell Jonas returning to his regular wing spot, where he has excelled this season and the ever present Luke Gutteridge. The bench is made up of Paddy Thomson, Lewis Moult and Jack Brenchley.
